White. . white. . and a little bit of red

today was white and grey . . .
and it snowed off and on
sweet charlie brown snow that falls slow and steady on,
but dances a little on it's way down. . as if to music.

and snug inside we made marshmallows. . .

or rather finished them up after having set all night long.
i make martha Stewart's recipe because i can't imagine they could come out any better.

they are SOOOOOOO delicious.

the cutting of the mallows is my favorite part.
it's so. .. cool.
it's just one of those recipes that seems more like magic then most. taking hot sugar and whipping it into a fluff that sets beautiful and perfect.

the winter has finally come . . to the winter berries.

and tomorrow. . is Christmas Eve.

to do list. . .

I have long been tormented by our dining room table
in it's current state of blah . . . rather dark wood
that has a little too much shine to it.
I'm not going to sugar coat this. . i hate it.
I have these old little chairs that are painted this
wonderful pastel greenish blue. . like the chair
in the picture just above.. and i sooooo
want to paint the table something
similar.
After years of discovering what i truly
like and don't like i definitely am
not for dark . .anything.
now if i can just convince my hubby.

City Girl

Out in the rain again this evening. I had waited
all day to put some new plants in the ground so it couldn't be helped.
I LoVe it really. Dirt is much easier to dig when it's wet
and although you look like this in about 2 seconds
how often do we city dwellers get to
play in the mud!
I highly recommend it.

Through Rain. . .

This afternoon once my little urchin was peeled off of me by hubby
I put on my wellies and headed out into the rain
to play in the mud. I had been wanting soooo badly
to weed and tidy up the back yard that nothing would stop me.
It was so much fun to be
out in the wet for almost two hours straight. . boots all muddy and
self quite soaked through.
I felt like my dad. . who loves to work outside in all weather.
It. Was. Fun.

Today

Today i woke up to my hubby bringing our baby boy into see me
Made Sam breakfast of cinnamon sugar toast and a banana
Played in the sandbox with Sam
Pushed Him on his swing in the high up on a hill woods
Carried Sam on a short walk and saw a sad boy who didn't want his daddy to go
Woke up my sister who sleeps on our sofa
Played inside and outside and inside and outside
and had yummy snacks and dranks icy cold water
Snuggled and Tried to comfort teething Sam
Went to the mall with Sis and Sam to get out of the house
Played outside
Drew pictures with crayons
Took a afternoon nap with bebe
Waited for Daddy to come home while we played on the swing and watched spiders
Whipped up something yummy for dinner
Took Sam for a long evening walk
Put bebe to bed
Cleaned and Cleaned and Cleaned forever and ever
and finally collapsed on the sofa
and soon to bed.
