Deep Cleansing Breaths of Oxygen

Drama Drama and Chaos
and so little time and even
fewer brain cells!

This day has been bananas.
But!
We must press on and keep calm and
tidy up and remember that there is a
new day right around the corner.

sigh. . . .

Dream In Smeg

For as long as i can remember i've wanted this
fridge . :)
In the end im not 100 % sure i would
choose pink. . even though it's always the one
i think of.
The pastel green and blue ones are
equally as adorable and i would have
an agonizing time choosing between all three.
Thank goodness we can't afford one. :)
Life is too short to spend that much time picking out a fridge
anyway.

Also. . Ames. . you leave tomorrow at 4 am and i am thinking of and praying for you dollface!
I can't WAIT to see you!

New Pillows with Ribbons and Morning Sun

I know its pink. . but this is my son's bouncy horse.
It was only a buck so i wasn't about to complain. .
plus i love pink . . i tried to bounce on it but it made weird noises
and i was afraid.
I LOVE it.
I'm so happy i can still find Sam old, somewhat dangerous toys .

Prints of this Photograph are available in My Etsy Shop

A very easy way to cover pillows
Sew three sides inside out to fit your pillow. .
sew ribbons to tie together
once pillow is inside.
That way you can still wash the case
when your baby bites it with a mouth full of graham crackers.

. . .

I want to be in this picture.

Soooooo tired the last few nights. Still recovering from
being away from home i think.. . either that or i'm under the
weather.
I did manage to make some
lovely covers for some
feather throw pillows my mom
gave me for my birthday.

I sometimes don't know how i get things
like that done. Somewhere between
sam's naps, sam playing on the floor at my feet,
and Kurt taking care of him after he gets
home from work. . i do these random
things . . later looking back and
thinking. . when and HOW did you actually
accomplish that?

An adorable movie to watch if you have Netflix
is
"Who am i this time?"

( it's one of the many movies available
to watch instantly . . . fabulous netflix )
It's an older, short indie film starring Christopher Walken.
I just love him don't you. :)

do watch it if you can. it's very sweet.

annnnnnd . . we're back

Totally random picture i took the last evening of our stay at
the week long summer camp my husband runs.
It was fun. . but difficult in many ways i did not foresee with a one year old.
Several times in the days prior to camp i remember actually uttering the words
"it will be easy to have sam at camp!"

anything but. .actually.. . but still fun
and wouldn't have missed it for the world.

next year however i am absolutely bringing. . .a nanny.

The feeling overall for me was loneliness. . . the kind that you
feel amidst being surrounded by your oldest, closest friends
and many other amazing people.. . not to mention the memories of
the last 17 years.

While they were running around doing many things or just hanging out together. .
there i was, in the distance, by the swing set . . or on another quiet walk.

Several times i was able to steal away at just the right moment
and it was so nice to feel a part of it all again.

I did miss my laptop. . just a little.

My First

Wedding . . . as the photographer.
It was for a friend so i don't know if it counts. . but it was
more difficult then i thought! i was WIPED! . . and i couldn't even
stay for the reception cuz i had to race a long two hours home to my baby
before bedtime. .
Out of many sweet shots i am thankful to have taken. . .
this one is my favorite.

"look RARA! petals!"

Comfort Cookies

My sister makes these all the time.. . the BEST
cookies of comfort
She always makes big batches but wrote out this recipe for
a smaller one.

Whip till nice and fluffy
1/2 cup soft unsalted butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 3/4 cup brown sugar ( not packed down at all )
Add
2 eggs
and
Lots of vanilla. . at least a tbsp
Add
1 1/2 - 2 cups flour ( add the last half cup a little at a time
till not so sticky )
2 tsp b powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp b soda
( kinda mix these into the flour before mixing
all in )

Add approx 1 cup of
choc chips and white choc chips
And 1/2 cup each of crazins, raisins,
and golden raisins. ( or whatever you want really.. . coconut is also good )

Mix in. Mix in!

Bake at 350 for approx 12-15 min.. . depending on how you like them.
My sister likes them soft but the rest of us make her bake them longer
to they're a little bit crunchy on the outside.

Oh MY are they good! you will eat too many of them. . i
promise :)

Through Rain. . .

This afternoon once my little urchin was peeled off of me by hubby
I put on my wellies and headed out into the rain
to play in the mud. I had been wanting soooo badly
to weed and tidy up the back yard that nothing would stop me.
It was so much fun to be
out in the wet for almost two hours straight. . boots all muddy and
self quite soaked through.
I felt like my dad. . who loves to work outside in all weather.
It. Was. Fun.

Never Throw out your Waffle Iron!

I recently read about this mother who . . for the sake of simplifying
her kitchen got rid of her waffle maker. . and i'm all for keeping it simple
trust me.. but my waffle maker is here to STAY! It
made me sad actually. . how could anyone
say goodbye to homemade waffles!

Also because of that article i've been craving waffles
. . so i whipped some up this morning
just to check and see if i still loved them.

yup.

here is betty crocker's super easy delicious recipe . . with an extra egg from me.

Three fresh farm eggs ( if you have never had a real egg. . this is another
subject i could go off on. . but DO run out and find
your most locally hatched farm eggs. . you won't ever eat store bought eggs . . even the one's that say cage free .. again! )

so. . 3 fresh eggs
1 3/4 c organic milk
1/2 cup oil
( i use extra virgin olive if making one batch. . and veg for mult.batches. )
Whisk this up in good shape.
Add
2 cups any flour
1 tbsp sugar
( i use brown but any will do )
4 tsp b powder
1/4 tsp salt

just kinda mix in the b powder and salt into the flour with your fingers
and then proceed to whisk whisk whisk till all is
mixed well.

Add a little more milk if you want thinner batter

Cook 'em up and serve hot hot hot with tons of butter and real maple syrup!
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. . .
